Skype over 3G for iPhone →
by Ben Lopez
I checked my App Store updates last night for a surprise people all over the world have been waiting to see since day 1 of iPhone’s existence: the ability to place Skype calls over your service provider’s 3G network. Global calls can now be made anytime, anywhere, no wifi…

Barnes and Noble
It’s amazing how much time one can spend in a bookstore. I love going into them…but before you know it, you’ve lost an hour! Not to mention that one’s bank account has inevitably been decreased upon leaving with a bag of goodies.

Aldi's in Winter Garden!
I realize this will seem odd to some…but I’m very excited to learn that there is going to be an Aldi’s in Winter Garden, Florida. We drove by the intersection of West Colonial (SR-50) and Park Street today and saw the “Coming Soon” sign in the window of the old Publix store.
For those that don’t know, Aldi is a deeply discounted grocery store. I believe...

Reusable Starbucks Cup
This is a very cool REUSABLE mug that was being sold at our Starbucks/Target. Jenifer found me a neat “generic” mug that looks like a throw-away coffee cup. She gave it to me for Christmas. Mine is microwavable (a definite advantage). These from Starbucks are cool…I like the design a lot, but they are not microwavable. I like the idea.

Boxee Box, very interesting...
As I have told many family and friends…I despise my cable company and the whole idea I have to pay for a service that is ALSO ad supported. Does it not seem that the content providers and the cable industry are double dipping into our pockets? Needless to say, I am very optimistic about this new product by Boxee/D-link. The Boxee Box is interesting…allowing the streaming of TV...

Did you know that the Publix tea (in the deli) are decaffeinated? I didn’t. I called to make a suggestion that they carry decaffeinated teas, and I got a response saying that they already are! I’m surprised that they don’t put that on the label.

I Received A Random Act of Kindness
So this was the first time anything like this has happend to me. I was on my way home tonight and my wife called asking that I stop by Chick-fil-A and pick her up a grilled chicken sandwich. Well I’m in the drive-thru and the chicken sandwich I was ordering for my wife sounded good — so I ordered two. When I got up to the window, I was told that the lady in the car in front of me...

DSL vs. Cable - To be or not to be?
So I’m once again debating the question…do I drop my Bright House high speed Internet connection and switch to DSL? I’m currently paying around $45 a month for their mid-level grade service. I’ve heard that I could probably get DSL for around $20 a month. Now, I’m not a big downloader. I occasionally watch a few Hulu movies (2 a month?), and we occasionally...
